Curriculum Budget Planning Tool

Many units are involved in the planning, mounting, and scheduling the campus curricula. In support of academic divisions, departments, programs, and the Division of Undergraduate Education (Colleges, Summer Session), the Curriculum Budget Planning Tool (CBPT) is a project to develop a web-based system for curricular planning to assist course-sponsoring agencies in assigning and tracking the costs of course instructors and temporary staffing (lecturers, teaching assistants and course assistants/readers/tutors) as well as funding sources.

CBPT fills a current need by course-sponsored agencies for a tool that can plan multiple curricular cycles, manage and forecast curricular budgets, calculate instructional workload, and provide analytical reporting related to many aspects of curriculum and leave planning.

This project is in partnership with Information Technology Services with Stephanie Nielsen as the project manager.  The project sponsor is Carrie Häber, assistant dean of Physical and Biological Sciences, who is representing the academic assistant deans group.  The executive sponsor is CP/EVC Lori Kletzer.

Status Update

As of Winter 2023, requirements have been gathered from all stakeholders in order to move forward with selecting a vendor to build the system.
