- The appointment begins July 1, 2025. Larry has served as the division's associate dean of Faculty Affairs since 2019. He joined UC Santa Cruz in 1991.
- Cowell has served in the UC Santa Cruz leadership for 17 years and more than 30 years in higher education. Associate University Librarian Kerry Scott will serve as Interim University Librarian beginning January 2026.
- Ravelo is a Distinguished Professor of Ocean Sciences and is currently serving as the Interim Director of the Institute of Marine Sciences. She has been a member of the UC Santa Cruz faculty since 1992.

- UC Santa Cruz has launched an internal search for the next Vice Provost of Academic Affairs (VPAA). UCSC candidates can apply through UC Recruit, with an initial review date of Friday, March 14, 2025.
- Herbie Lee, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Professor of Statistics, will serve as interim Dean of Social Sciences, effective July 1, 2025.
