Making Sense of the Data

In January 2014, the Planning Task Force (PTF) reconvened with campus leadership to review what they had heard from stakeholders. The PTF teams had met with faculty, staff, undergraduate students, graduates, post-doctorates, researchers, affiliates, alumni, Foundation trustees, and local community from the business, civic, and educational sectors. Links to the meeting agenda and material produced are provided below.

Making Sense Conference Agenda

Themes The PTF teams described their stakeholder meetings: the specific groups they met, the tone and tenor of the meetings, and the common themes that emerged.

Concept Papers The major themes that arose across the stakeholder groups were organized into core concept areas: Research, Operations, Student Experience, Communications and Reputation, External Engagement and Partnerships, Diversity, and Environment and Sustainability. Members of the PTF chose the concept area they wanted to research and formed the teams that wrote the Concept Papers. Each concept paper addresses the question: “How does it, and how could it, shape UC Santa Cruz?”
