Getting Started

Envision UC Santa Cruz officially began with a Kickoff meeting in October 2013. This event convened the Planning Task Force (PTF) to review the collaborative strategic planning process; train PTF members on specific "meeting designs" for collecting stakeholder feedback; and organize valuable information resources, such as lists of stakeholders and ways to reach them. Links to the meeting agenda and material produced are provided below.

Kickoff Agenda

Meeting Design: UC Santa Cruz Accomplishments Participants identified recent UC Santa Cruz accomplishments, what made them happen, and lessons learned from them.

Meeting Design: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats Participants identified what they thought were the key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for UC Santa Cruz. A voting method helped the participants identify the points on which they shared the most agreement.

Meeting Design: Future Timeline Participants identified the top events, issues, and trends relevant to the future of UC Santa Cruz, identified the points on which they shared the most agreement, and made some discoveries in the process.

Stakeholder Groups and Ways to Connect Participants brainstormed the many internal and external constituencies of UC Santa Cruz, organized the groupings, then shared ideas about how to connect with each group.

Strategic Questions Participants developed questions that will help to elicit the most relevant feedback from stakeholders about UC Santa Cruz and the future.
